Headstones Pt 10

The green light was given and all the paperwork was finally complete. Kimende smiled as he perused the documents that Samy had delivered earlier. They were for his casinos which were now registered and according to Samy the slot machines and gaming tables would arrive next week. With a satisfied smirk Kimende reluctantly set the documents safely in the safe. He picked up the other documents on his desk which were the completed feasibility studies for his new enterprise. As well as all the necessary paperwork for the funeral home. Things were well on track with all the pieces falling into place. Ngoma had not failed him and he was now on the way to legitimizing his businesses. The transport business was off to a good start and the people of Matuu were so happy with the wells that his company dug for them that they sung his praises to all and sundry. Their first clients included a mistress to a local politician who had overdosed according to the medical report even though in reality she h...

Our Love is Loud

The curtain falls on yet another year and marks the beginning of a new season the year 2010 no more 00.Heard someone asking what do we call this decade the tens?? coz before we had the 80s then came the 90s but after the millenium the confusion begun was it the 00s and now what is it. It was a tough year, challenging, happy and yet also a strange year coz not many things stand out sure a few big events took place but generally it feels and am sure many will agree it was a year that passed by in a blur. One day it was January and before you knew what hit you it was June and you were left wondering where did the rest of the year go to. We have learnt some hard lessons repeated others that we didn't learn our first time around grown both in girth for some of us and in grit hopefully everyone. Lost some special people both near and close. Bennie mac,the king of pop himself MJ and those much closer to home Nick you fought the good fight Priscila you were a bright star gracing us with you...

I Carry your Heart With Me

This is the title of a beautiful poem written by EE Cummings many years ago yet his words are as real and relevant today as they ever were. Am not much of a poetry fan but occasionally one captures my mind and causes me to pause and ponder a common truth told in a fresh way or a new previously unheard of truth which broadens my mind. This is one of the latter an old truth presented in such a fresh way it causes one to be mometarily blindsided like a beautiful sunset or a genuine laugh hope you enjoy and savor it just as i did. remember the line from tyler perry's diary of a mad black woman what shemar moore told kimberly Elise. yeah it was there when he proposed and no am not nuts for remembering the lines. I Carry Your Heart With Me i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling) i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want no world(for beautiful you are my wor...

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by And that has made all the difference. by: Robert Frost

By The Well

They say a rest is the best medicine or something like that. Got to test that recently during my leave and i must say it was all that and more. stress fell away like layers and burdens off my back. Suddenly i felt lighter even though i had no idea i was burdened in the first place. It was great to be away to do nothing but slow down look and marvel at God's creation, stop and smell the flowers remebering what it is like to laugh from deep down. Come away my beloved that's what the groom constantly tells his bride daily "come away and spend some time with me let me love on you" and that's exactly what i did.Such a shame that the bride would only offer excuses never taking the groom up on his offer until it was too late. Now i understand the value of the sabbath my focus has been realigned and all is well again. What you want might hurt you and what you need might pass you by so watch out!!!!!!

In all Things

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”- Philippians 2:3-4 This is the verse for the day yet it is increasingly hard for me to do this today of all days. All sorts of emotions are churning inside me filling my heart to overflowing. I think of my prayer this morning and i bow my head in shame for its as if me capital ME is the subject matter. "Lord i want this i want that and why didn't you do that for me i whine over and over forgetting his goodness and blessings. Paul talks about learning to be content whatever was happening at any given time.Easy for him to say right no wrong this is coming from a man who was beaten four times and not the kind of beating we get from our folks with a wooden spoon. No were talking flogging by Roman soldiers with whips 39 lashes across his back. The law prescribed 40 lashes only but i...

Headstones pt 9

Jelo got home at around seven in the evening. He liked to be early enough to have dinner with Mo and the kids daily. He would get there as the children were still doing their homework and often would help out his son and daughter as they waited for dinner to be served. A lot could be said about Mo and was said the neighbors weren't the most friendly but what could not be denied was the fact that she was a great mother and a good wife. It was all his fault that their marriage was failing had been for a long time. They put up a front for the children and the neighbors but it had not been working for a long time now. Jelo was a hard working man an accountant with a big firm and money was not one of the issues affecting their marriage. He and Mo met at the university and struck up an instant rapport. She was beautiful, smart and better yet he had fun with her like one of the boys. Soon they were spending quite a bit of time together outside the lecture halls. Mo was studying to be a tea...
