They say a rest is the best medicine or something like that. Got to test that recently during my leave and i must say it was all that and more. stress fell away like layers and burdens off my back. Suddenly i felt lighter even though i had no idea i was burdened in the first place. It was great to be away to do nothing but slow down look and marvel at God's creation, stop and smell the flowers remebering what it is like to laugh from deep down. Come away my beloved that's what the groom constantly tells his bride daily "come away and spend some time with me let me love on you" and that's exactly what i did.Such a shame that the bride would only offer excuses never taking the groom up on his offer until it was too late. Now i understand the value of the sabbath my focus has been realigned and all is well again. What you want might hurt you and what you need might pass you by so watch out!!!!!!

In all Things

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”- Philippians 2:3-4 This is the verse for the day yet it is increasingly hard for me to do this today of all days. All sorts of emotions are churning inside me filling my heart to overflowing. I think of my prayer this morning and i bow my head in shame for its as if me capital ME is the subject matter. "Lord i want this i want that and why didn't you do that for me i whine over and over forgetting his goodness and blessings. Paul talks about learning to be content whatever was happening at any given time.Easy for him to say right no wrong this is coming from a man who was beaten four times and not the kind of beating we get from our folks with a wooden spoon. No were talking flogging by Roman soldiers with whips 39 lashes across his back. The law prescribed 40 lashes only but i...

Jelo got home at around seven in the evening. He liked to be early enough to have dinner with Mo and the kids daily. He would get there as the children were still doing their homework and often would help out his son and daughter as they waited for dinner to be served. A lot could be said about Mo and was said the neighbors weren't the most friendly but what could not be denied was the fact that she was a great mother and a good wife. It was all his fault that their marriage was failing had been for a long time. They put up a front for the children and the neighbors but it had not been working for a long time now. Jelo was a hard working man an accountant with a big firm and money was not one of the issues affecting their marriage. He and Mo met at the university and struck up an instant rapport. Headstones Pt 8

It was a quarter to five in the evening and all the men were assembled in the board room waiting for the meeting to begin. Kimende had asked all his lieutenants to be there and none had disappointed him for they all knew what the consequences would be. He sat oblivious to their presence studying some documents. Occasionally he would sip his tea at his elbow and continue reading. Finally he set them aside and looked up. "You all know why were here so without wasting time lets get to it. where is the report i asked for? Samy signaled for the lights to be dimmed and turned on the overhead projector. They all watched the video in silence and when it was over turned expectantly to Samy to explain. "It is the law of large numbers."Huh what is that?" it describes the expected stability of the mean of a random variable. "Speak clearly commanded kimende who was as confused as his men."Well this is a mathematical formula which states that if you take a random variabl...

Headstones Pt 7

"Thank you for coming down and identifying the body i know it can't have been easy for you" as he led the distraught woman out of the morgue. She allowed herself to be led by the gentle hand at her elbow out of the morgue even though his very touch was loathsome to her. They walked out into the warm sunshine although she doubted she would ever be warm again for an icy fist seemed to hold her heart in its grip and she vainly wondered if she would ever thaw out again. Walking in a trance she had no concept of time or grip on reality. In a daze the doctor helped her into a cab and gave the driver instructions on where she lived. He then paid the appropriate fare and she sunk back in her seat oblivious to the cab drivers attempt at small talk or her surroundings. She roused herself as from a deep sleep when the cab driver's voice penetrated the fog in her mind as he told her they had arrived. This was a day she wished she had never seen or could forget yet neither of thos...

It is well..........

Even if the leaves shed all their leaves, the fruit trees their anticipated bounty beforehand or the animals all around their young and the lights be switched off the bills piling up by the second and the taps be dry mirroring my own dry, parched soul and the music be turned to noise in my ears Dearest friends turned into foes Family scattered far and wide Hague beckoning so alluringly Rotten maize,no spoilt maize my ugali i fear eating Oil i need oil i lack the clouds shut up no rain in sight my dreams shattered into jagged pieces corruption so endemic disease so rampart death so final yet still in him my hope lies And yet will i praise him The alfa and the Omega The beginning and the end The bright morning star.

Headstones Pt 6

It was two years later and Tina had delivered twins whereas Mo was the proud mother of a baby boy. The truth had not yet come out regarding the true paternity of the babies but as both women had something to hide, their fear kept them both silent. All that was about to change for Tina after the phone call she had received.Thabo was coming into town and he wanted to see her. Since her trip to Kisumu they had left things as they were not bothering to keep in touch realising that what they had had been a holiday fling and preferring to return to their lives. This had worked perfectly for both as Tina had been separated from her husband who had left her for another woman. He had eventually divorced her and she had been left trying to pick up the shattered pieces of her heart and life. That was until her family found out she was pregnant, they convinced her husband to take responsibility for his actions and they were reconciled.
